A group of students in DPSE organized a voluntary activity to help clean up our polymer building and at the same time to strengthen the dissemination of sanitation and hygiene.
On April 2nd, 13 volunteers cleaned the polymer building and its surrounding. The theme of this activity is ”everyone is responsible for campus environment”, Volunteers focusing on the cleaning of the corner pockets. Along with these, they also helped to sweep away the dirt in the inner part of the air-conditioners. Based on the positive actions, an education lecture was made to enhance the sense of living a healthy and clean life.
Some teachers in DPSE also took part in the activity. At the beginning, teachers emphasized on the meanings of the activity and mentioned certain items needed to notice during the process. Mr Fang, a stuff from logistics management office, explained in details the brief process of dismounting and packaging a n air-conditioner, and the way to clean it up. Subsequently, 13 volunteers were grouped into three teams. Two teams were responsible for cleaning the air-conditioners of 1-6 floors and the rest team helped the cleaner searching every corner pockets of DPSE. Because experimental apparatuses and bottles of solvents crowded the labs, the process of cleaning air-conditioners required more carefulness. During the whole process, all volunteers showed responsible attitudes, tried to learn about every lab’s conditions and respect the suggestions from every teacher and the lab's safety guide. The activity got on wheels, winning wide appreciations from the teachers and students. Meanwhile, many valuable suggestions were fed back from some teachers.
At last, we also specially cleaned and reprinted the stone tablet of DPSE, making the mark of DPSE more colorful and bright.
The activity, grasping the opportunity of patriotic and healthy month, fully taking advantage of powers of the pioneering examples of college student, was really a progress on the road of constructing the service-oriented party branch. By the combination of practice and oral propaganda, valuable awareness including living a healthy life, protecting the environment is rooted in the hearts of teachers and students, which will help them to live healthier and more comfortable campus life.
