On Sept. 11th, 2012, the orientation for Grade 2012 Graduate students of DPSE, Zhejiang University was held at Room 228 in Polymer Building. The members attending this meeting as follows: Prof. Zhiquan Shen, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhikang Xu, Dean of DPSE, Prof. Wang Qi, Vice Dean of DPSE, Prof. Wang Qingwen, Vice Dean of DPSE, Prof. Zhiqiang Fan, Prof. Changyou Gao, Prof. Yihu Song, and three moral directors: Lie Sheng, Zhisheng Fu, Youxiang Wang. Prof. Qi Wang presided over the meeting.
Prof. Shen came first to take the floor, greeting freshmen with plain and wholehearted words. Next came Prof. Zhikang Xu, who vividly described the current situations of Polymer Science and achieved successes in this field, using the simple symbol“12345of DPSE”. He also advocated that every student should strive to be a full grown man armed with ample knowledge and possessed of a healthy body and mind. Then three teachers: Prof. Zhiqiang Fan, Prof. Changyou Gao, Prof. Yihu Song took turns to address students, greeting them with valuable suggestions and eager expectations in view of their scientific and teaching experience of many years. And best wishes were sent to students by the three moral directors: Prof. Lie Shen, Pro. Zhisheng Fu and Associate Prof. Youxiang Wang. They hope everyone can live a happy and enriched life in the big family of DPSE. Prof. Qi Wang reviewed the glorious progress of the Polymer Science as the last part of the meeting between teachers and students.
In the subsequent session, Tong Shen talked about common problems related to the personal information maintenance, courses choosing etc. She also provided site answers for students’ questions. This was followed by the report of Qingwen Wang on the topic of postgraduate education. The report was divided into five parts, each of which was clearly presented. Finally, Yuan Gao introduced the component sections of the Students’ Union of DPSE, shared his working experience with new students and welcomed them again to be a member of the big family of Students’ Union of DPSE. At last, in the big round of applause, the plenary orientation for Grade 2012 Graduate students of DPSE, Zhejiang University came to a successful end.
