Preliminary Match
Following the badminton match of DPSE’s physical culture festival, the basketball match was held on March 30th in 2014.The match was mainly aimed at promoting communication between undergraduate students and graduate students, and preparing for the “Sanhao Cup” basketball match in May.
Four teams took part in this match, which were the undergraduate students’ teams from the third grade and the forth grade and the graduate students’ teams from the first grade and senior grade. The four teams chose their opponent by drawing lots and the winner could go to the final match. The outcome turned out to be the undergraduate students’ team of the forth grade competes with the graduate students’ team from the first grade, while the undergraduate students’ team of the third grade competes with the graduate students’ team of the senior grade.
The competition between the forth grade of the undergraduates and the first grade of the graduates was firstly held. At the beginning of this match, the graduates’ team was led owing to their higher height. In the second half, the graduates’ team made so many mistakes that the undergraduates’ team took the chance, almost scoring equal with the graduates’ team. Owing to more scores the graduates’ team got in the first half, they got final success.
Following was a more fierce match between the team of undergraduate students’ team of the third grade and graduate students’ team of the senior grade, whose scores were the same in the first half match. In the second half, when the leading players of the undergraduates’ team is off to rest, the graduate students’ team of the senior grade took the chance and scored more 20 points, which made them the winner of the match.
Despite of the fierce match, the playground was filled with cheerful atmosphere. After the match, the two teams continued to play, just for entertainment.
The final match of the “polymerization cup” physical cultural festival was held between the winning teams, but the exact time was not determined, hoping more students could take part to cheer for the team they were for.
The final match
After the may day holiday, the basketball match of the fifth “Polymerization Cup” physical culture festival was held on the night of May 8th.This game was the final match of this festival. After the preliminary match, graduate students’ teams from the first grade and senior grade defeated their opponents promoted to the final match.
The match was held in the playground of Yuquan campus. At the beginning of the first half, some leading players of the first grade were late for the match, so the senior grade seized the opportunity to lead. However, when the leading players of the first grade joined in the match, some changes took place, that the senior grade made more mistakes, and the first grade led at last.
In the second half, the cooperation between the players of the senior grade became much better, and they got two three-point shots 30s before the end of the match. The first grade’s next attack was successful, and got a shot in the foul tactics, while the senior failed to get the three-point shot. Finally, the first grade defeated the senior grade with the result of 46 to 41.5.They were the champion of the match.
The “Polymerization Cup” basketball match not only brought us joy when playing the basketball, promoted communication between students from different grades, enriched our lives, but also made preparations for the “Sanhao cup” basketball match. We believed that in the next week’s “Sanhao cup” basketball match, the players of our department would get satisfactory results.
