On the morning of November 25th, in the polymer building room 230, a training course about the news writing and photographing skills was opened by the news & information center of DPSE. The keynote speakers of the course were: Meng Dai, the former journalist of the magazine << tide of seeking truth >> and Ming Luo, a enthusiast of photographing, they together provided a novel and interesting training course for members of the news & information center.
The course was formally started at 9 a.m. Firstly, Meng Dai explained to us the key points of news writing and items worth our attention. How to write a news report with ample facts and right words? Meng Dai answered the question in details from several aspects including the understanding of news, the former preparation, the site recording and integrating work after the activity.
Also She stressed that news writing should have its special language style and contents' structures. For example, important information enjoys more details, proper logical order is necessary for a good piece of news and words used in news should be objective, concise and plain. In addition, in terms of site guests’ introduction and some relevant materials' search, Meng Dai shared her own experience. She illustrated to us how to write a good piece of news report using some concrete examples.
Subsequently, Ming Luo introduced some photographing skills and key points of using SLR cameras. The whole process, running like a chatting party, entered into an easy and harmonious atmosphere. A series of questions on organization of photo elements, matters needed to be paid attention to when you took photos in a meeting and post-treatments of photos were answered specifically, the right way of using the camera was showed by him as well.
Moreover, he emphasized that at anyplace, toward any kind of activities, you must hold the principle: flexibly dealing with the methods of photographing and the angle from which you catch the view. "Whatever kind of camera or the lens you use, the most important is your brain behind the camera." said Ming Luo, reminding us not to have blind faith in the device, but to use our hearts to take every picture.
Apart from these, members of the news & information center shared with each other about their experience in study and work. In a harmonious discussion atmosphere the training course came to a satisfactory end.
