| Professor Alex K.-Y. Jen is the Boeing/Johnson Chair Professor of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Washington. He is a noted scholar in the field of organic electro-optical materials. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1984 from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. From 1984-1997, he was Research Scientist in Allied-Signal Inc.; from 1997-1999, Associate Professor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Washington. He became Professor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Washington in the year 1999. |
By now, Professor Alex K.-Y. Jen has published over 400 papers in international journals, including Science, Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Photonics, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nano Letter, Adv. Mater., etc. His papers have been cited over 13000 times, and he has an H-index of 57. His present research focuses on ultra-low-cost and efficient polymer solar cells, highly efficient white light polymer LEDs for solid-state lighting, low power and ultrahigh-speed organic photonic devices to improve energy efficiency for computation and telecommunication.
