Time£º2011-05-25 10:10

The Key Science and Technology Project of “Microporous Membrane for Medical Use” in Zhejiang Province, directed by Prof. Baoku Zhu, was completed successfully with the cooperation of Engineering Research Center of Membrane and Water Treatment Technology (Ministry of Education) with the Yuhuan Xinyi Macromolecule Filter Material Factory. All the research work was finished up till the present moment.

After 4 years of research, the project team have solved many problems and made technological breakthrough in design and large-scale production of special amphiphilic polymer for membrane preparation, hydrophilization of polymeric microporous membrane via phase inversion, pore structure control of the coating layer on non-woven support, production of composite membrane and post-processing equipment, etc. The production lines of composite membranes with a capacity of 500,000 square meters per year were established, which could produce various microfiltration membranes such as PES/non-woven with permanent hydrophilicity, PVDF/non-woven, PVC/non-woven, cellulose acetate/non-woven fabric, etc.

Based on the relevant achievements in this project, the research team have received 4 patent grants and won Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Progress Award, with 10 papers published. The products of composite membrane disks were widely used in the filters of apparatus infusionis of which 3 billion or more were consumed per year. This research work fully revealed the characteristics and advantages of our instruction and scientific research, and added highlights to academic and technological achievements in the field of polymeric membranes for separation.
