On the evening of Oct 25th on Zi-jin-gang campus, there came the sound of applause and laughter from Room 105 of the second teaching building, west of the Qi-zhen Lake. Here, the ice-breaking party was going on with a group of lively guys from the student union (SU) of department of polymer science and engineering (DPSE). The senior student cadres and all the fresh SU members got together for the party, and integrated themselves into the harmonious family of SU via the activities held tonight.
At first, two student cadres, SU president Xue-Tao Zhang and SU vice-president Yuan Gao, introduced the major responsibilities of SU, activities held previously and direction of future work respectively, which gave a better understanding of the US to everyone present.
Then, teacher Jiao Meng, the secretary of Youth League Committee of DPSE, came onto the platform. He made many meaningful recommendations to all the students according to his own personal experience, including the way for students to carry out daily work, to make contact with teachers properly, to deal with the misses in the work, and so on. At the mean time, some of the students gave the feedback and talked about the ideas in their mind with each other actively.

Which followed was the wonderful and exciting performance of different depatments of SU. Members from culture and sports department presented a piece of soulful guitar song, winning warm applause; several students from propagation department acted a talk-show, showing their unique wisdom and eloquence; and shows from other departments, such as cross talk, school musical and songs , had their own flavor. At this very moment, everyone present, especially fresh SU members, became familiar with each other in a cheerful atmosphere.
The ice breaking party ended successfully. The cadres of SU would continue providing service for all the students of DPSE.
The dedication is the harvest. We would try our best to hold various activities with high quality for every student!
