On the evening of May 14, the reading seminar sponsored by the "Happy Space" was held at the meeting room. Reading enthusiasts from different grades of the department discussed about three books——"A Person's Pilgrimage" "Lost and Love" and "1984". It was a great honor to invite the professor Jing Zhi Sun and counselor Chenxing Chen as guests.
The communication begun with the book "A Person's Pilgrimage" which was the maiden work of British playwright Rachel Joyce. The novel tells a story about a 60-year-old retired senior worker named Harold who believes that as long as he walks, his old friend will survive! The second book "Lost and Love" writes a father’s 14 years’ life of searching his lost son. "1984" is a novel about political totalitarian. The tone of the novel is dark. Professor Sun commented on the novel, he thought the book reflected a kind of extremism which they should not follow it, and more important for them is to have a faith in the government.
The meeting successfully ended with the summary made by counselor Chenxing Chen.
