Zhijiang Science Forum - International Forum of Biomedical Materials: Nanobiomaterials and Biomaterials Interfaces) had been held successfully at the Flower Harbor Hotel in Hangzhou from October 28 to October 31. The forum was co-hosted by the committee of Zhejiang natural science foundation and Biomedical macromolecular research institute of Zhejiang university and sponsored by the committee of Zhejiang natural science foundation, the committee of national natural science foundation and the ministry of education. 253 experts from home and abroad were invited, including 28 people from America \France\Germany\Canada\Spanish\New Zealand\Singapore\Korea\Japan and Hong Kong of China etc. The forum contained 3 conference reports, 49 topic reports and 19 oral reports. And the forum invited 7 biomedical companies.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Gao Changyou, and vice secretary of party committee of Zhejiang university Ren Shaobo, vice office director of the committee of Zhejiang natural science foundation, chairman of the forum academic committee academician Shen Jiacong and Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, secretary of DPSE’s party committee Rou Rengong etc. took part in the opening ceremony. The forum specially invited Nobel Chemical Prize Winner Jean-Marie Lehn, five domestic academicians, four foreign academicians (including Jean-Marie Lehn) and more than 20 Changjiang Scholars and national outstanding young winner of national foundation to address relevant topic reports. The forum contained six topics including nanostructure and the preparation and analysis of gel materials, the medicine transporting materials and systems, biomaterials for detection and diagnosis, organization engineering and regenerated medical materials, surface and interface of biomaterials and biomedical material and relevant biosafety. The forum atmosphere was active and academic.
This international academic forum enhanced the international influence of Zhejiang province and biomedical materials of Zhejiang university, created a platform for researchers in the biomaterials’ field to have access to better communication, study and sharing, which will further the communication and corporation between high educational institutes in home and abroad, research institutes and the companies, finally push Zhejiang and national relevant industry to the stage of fast development.
