DPSE’s third“Li-Sheng cup”Chemical Knowledge Contest was Held Successfully

On April 13th of 2014, DPSE’s third “Li-Sheng Cup” chemical knowledge preliminary contest was held successfully in the western teaching building in Zijingang Campus. The contest sponsored by Li-Sheng company is launched for people who have passion for chemistry by DPSE’s student union. Its aim is to develop students’ enthusiasm for chemistry in our lives, arouse their interests in polymers and help them in the major selection they will soon face. Up to now, two contests have been held and attracted many students from Grade 1 and Grade 2.

This contest attracted more than 252 students from different majors and grades, and they were divided into 84 groups competing for the “tickets” into the final race. The first run took the form of answering a set of questions together by three students of each group in 2 hours. Any kind of reference were allowed. 

The contest form was free but the atmosphere was serious. Apart from their basic knowledge about chemisty, their ability of collecting information and exchanging ideas, and their ability of teamwork were also tested in the contest.

Two-hour ran fast and the contest ended with students’ thought still flying. The contest’s result will be published in campus network forum CC98. And students entering into the final race will be informed by phone message.
