In the bright and fair April 3rd, the retired faculty of DPSE went to Liangzhu, a 4A-class national scenic area, to enjoy its beautiful natural scenery and cultural landscape.
Led by the consultant of Vanke Co., the faculty visited Suiyuan Community, a service center specially established by VankeSuiyuanjiashuExhibitionCenter for the life of the elder people. In the medical center equipped in Suiyuan Community, our old comrades experienced the professional physical examination instruments in person. Moreover, they watched a documentary about the birth of Suiyuanjiashu in the theater. Interested in Suiyuanjiashu, the retired faculty asked the consultants in details on its corresponding information during the tea break after the visit.
In the afternoon, the retired teachers came to the public canteen on the food street of Liangzhu to have lunch. The decoration and Enamel tableware from the period of People’s Commune aroused their memory of the past time.
After lunch, we took a bus to Jiamu apartments for elder people. Under the guidance of the service staffs, we paid a visit to the various facilities of the apartments, including activity center for the aged, canteen, chess and card room, medical care room, physiotherapy room and so on. On the course of our visit, many teachers grabbed table tennis bats to show their skills in playing Ping-Pong, winning rounds of cheers. Further more, inquiries on the basic conditions of the elder people apartments and praises for its management service were presented when watching the sample houses.
At the end of this outing, we went to MeilizhouChurch and LiangzhuMuseum. Designed by a famous Japanese architect and made of logs, the church was surrounded with strong European atmosphere. While in the museum, large amounts of precious archaeological excavations were on display. With the help of advanced technology, scenes of ancient life were well reproduced. Meanwhile, the retired teachers shared their opinions with each other. The idea collision deepened our insights into the culture of Liangzhu, fully developing the truth seeking spirit of ZhejiangUniversity.
As one-day time flies, the retired teachers still felt the outing was not long enough. Therefore, on the way back, they all agreed to spend their twilight years together in Liangzhu.
