On Oct 1st 2013, Polymers for Advanced Technologies (PAT) international conference was held in Berlin, German. Professor Hanying Li from Zhejiang University was invited to deliver a speech, and he won PAT 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award (Junior), which is also called 'Young Talents Award' for his systematic research work on polymer-single crystal compounds recent years. PAT conference is held every two years in the field of polymer science by PAT journey. It has been held for 12 times till now, including the one held in Shanghai in 2007.This award is meant to promote promising scientists who have demonstrated excellence in their academic achievements. The medal shows below is named after Menachem Lewin, a famous Israeli polymer scientist. Candidates are nominated by the academic committee of PAT conference, and the unique final prize-winner is chosen by independent committee. It's the first time that PAT issues the award, and Prof. Li was lucky to be the first scientist who got it.
Introduction: Hanying Li, male, who was born in 1980, is a professor of DPSE in Zhejiang University. He got both the Bachelor and Master degrees in DPSE of Zhejiang University. In 2009, he gained the PhD degree in Material Department of Cornell University, USA, and then went to Stanford to do post-doctor research for the next 2 years. In 2011, he was selected as one of the first scientists of 'The Recruitment Program of Global Youth Experts'. In Nov 2011, he returns to Zhejiang University to work and then in 2012, he was subsidized by Excellent Youth fund of National Research Foundation. His research areas are bio-mimic polymer—single crystal compounds and organic polymerphoto and electric material. He has published 41 papers recorded by SCI, among which 17 was published on first class Journals such as Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc, Adv. Mater, Adv. Funct. Mater, Macromolecules and MRS Bull. He was the first or communication author of those artivles.He has been invited to deliver speeches seven times on international conferences. And he was awarded the silver award of ”Excellent PhD Graduates” in USA in 2010, in the same year, he won the prize of ” Outstanding Self-Financed Students Aboard” founded by China Scholarship Council.
