Four Professors at DPSE have been appointed as Editors of International Journals

Time£º2013-03-29 01:01

1. Prof. Zhikang Xu

Dean Zhikang Xu is a Qiushi Special-Term Professor in Zhejiang University and a laureate in China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. He has long been an international editor of Journal of Membrane Science (IF 3.85) published by Elsevier. His research interests focus on surface engineering of polymer materials for separation membranes, including biomimetic, nanostructured and patterned membranes, enzyme immobilized membranes and molecular recognition membranes, etc. He has published 2 books, and participated in publication of 8 English books.

2. Prof. Changyou Gao

Prof. Changyou Gao is a Changjiang Special-Term Professor and a laureate in China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. He is an international editor of Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces (IF 3.456) published by Elsevier. His research interests focus on biomedical polymers for tissue repair and regeneration, in particular biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and nano- and colloidal biomaterials for cell-material interaction.

3. Prof. Jian Ji

Prof. Jian Ji is a laureate in China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. He has been appointed as a co-editor in the editorial board of Biointerphases (IF 2.208) published by Springer. He is the chief inventor of cardiovascular biomimetic drug-eluting stent with independent intellectual property in China. His main research interests focus on polymer biomaterials and biological interface, including surface tailoring of biomaterials via bio-inspired self-assembly, surface engineering of biomimetic nano-carrier for nanomedicine, etc.

4. Prof. Chao Gao

Prof. Chao Gao is now an editor of Colloid and Polymer Science (IF 2.331) published by Springer. His main research interests focus on hyperbranched polymers and graphene. His SEM image of a tightened knot of graphene fibre was selected as the  annual picture of Nature in 2011. Recently, he has developed an ultra-flyweight carbon aerogel, which was given pictured comment titled “Solid carbon, springy and light” in the Research Highlights of Nature (2013, 494, 404).
