Dear undergraduate and graduate students:
The school is going to hold the track and field sports meeting of 2012 on October 26th and 27th in Zijinggang Campus. Now, our department is organizing a student team. According to the announcement from the school and current situation of our department, we inform you of the meeting as the following.
1. Major Organizer: The Committee of Athletic Sports of Zhejiang University
Assistant Organizer: Public Health and Art Committee of Zhejiang University
2. Purpose of the Game:
To promote healthy exercises and sports among students in our school; to enrich the sports culture knowledge of our students; to examine the competence of sports activities of our students; to display the uniqueness and spirit of every distinct department; to accelerate the step of penetrating all-around education and the construction of worldwide first-class university.
3. Slogan:
Hold a Human-centered Game; Nurture All-around Students; Adhering to Truth and Creation; Endlessly Pursuing Excellence.
4. Competing Events
Man:(17 events) 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 5000 meters, 110 meters hurdle, 4×100 relay, 4×400 relay, high jumping, long jumping, triple jumping, shotting, discus throwing, javelin throwing, heptathlon, triple walking on broads.
Woman:(17 events)100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 3000 meters, 100 meters hurdle, 4×100 relay, 4×400 relay, high jumping, long jumping, triple jumping, shotting, discus throwing, javelin throwing, pentathlon, triple walking on broads.
Mixed Events for Men and Women: 10×60 mixed relay of 60 meters (5 men and 5 women)
5. Regulations for signing up and participation:
1) Undergraduate students:
All the players must be full-time undergraduate students with formal school roll. In addition, sophomores can represent either their college or department according to their own choice, but priority lies in the department. One student can represent only one administrative unit.A verification of student card or personal ID card is required before each game
2) Graduate students:
All the players must be full-time graduate students with formal school roll, and on-job graduate students belong to the faculty group.A verification of student card or personal ID card is required before each game
6. Regulations for each participating team
1)Undergraduate students:
¢Ù¡¡The maximum number of each team is 35, including men players and women players, but neither sex should go beyond 20.
¢Ú¡¡Every events can have two players at most, and every player can only sign up for two events, except for the relay and mixed events; a player can not sign up for all-around game and single events at the same time, but not including relay.
¢Û¡¡The competition will obey the newly-published official regulations of Track and Field Committee of China.
2)graduate students:
¢Ù¡¡The maximum number of each team is 30, including men players and women players, but neither sex should go beyond 18.
¢Ú¡¡Every events can have two players at most, and every player can only sign up for two events, except for the relay and mixed events; a player can not sign up for all-around game and single events at the same time, but not including relay.
¢Û¡¡The competition will obey the newly-published official regulations of Track and Field Committee of China.
7. Scoring Method
1) For students’ group, each events is going to enroll the top eight contestants, assigning the credit from the first to the eighth of 9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1(all-around events and relay receive double credit). Triple walking on broads is classified as a single event. If there are more than one group scoring the same records, the credit will be divided equally among them, without the succeeding ranking.
2) If there are less than or equal to eight people signing up for an event, we will enroll one less rank number than the total number according to the situation. If the total signing up number is less than three, the competing event would be canceled, and the organizer would inform players and the participating team to change the schedule.
8. Awards:
1) Team Awards:
We will take the top eight teams based on the credit accumulation records, and honor them with the winning cup.
2) Individual Awards:
We will take the top three individuals of each event to award medals, and take the top eight contestants to give certificates of award.
3) Moral Awards:
We will grant specially-made medals to the team that wins the moral awards.
9. The rights of explanation belongs to the host.

Requirements for signing up:
Please edit your email including the information about your student number, name, gender, communication information, the first intending event, the second intending event, grade, and please give clear indication if you want to sign up for mixed events or relays.

11. Our department is going to invite professional coach from the public health and art committee to train the players during mid-October, and at the same time deliver the subsidies and awards for every student according to the performance during the sports meeting. Undergraduate students may apply for the second-class credit and comprehensive rating points.
