Topic: Investigation of Polysaccharide Adsorbent Material
Abstract: There is an interest in polysaccharide-based macromolecules such as cyclodextrins(CDs) and chitosan due to their ability to form stable host-guest complexes with a variety of organic and inorganic molecules in the gaseous state, solution phase, and the solid state. The host-guest chemistry of CDs and chitosan are well studied; whereas, copolymer materials are of great interest due to their tunable sorption and molecular recognition properties. The presentation will provide an overview of some of our recent research concerning the preparation of polysaccharide sorbent materials and their sorption properties with an outlook on their applications in chemical separations, environmental remediation, and delivery systems.
Time: Novenber 20th (Thursday), 9:00~10:30 a.m.
Location: Conference room on the second floor in the wing Building of DPSE
