His work has been recongized by a Young Investigator Reaserch Achievement Award of the Controlled Release Society, Distinguished Scientist Award of the International Journal of Nanomedicine, and Clemsom Award for Applied Research of the Society for Biomaterials.

Biomaterials Design: surface nanostructures, microfluidics, quantum dots, etc.

Controlled Drug and Gene Delivery: oral delivery, non-viral gene dilivery, etc.

Tissue Engineering:stem cells, structure of scaffolds, nerve guidance, etc.
