Introduction

Lab of polymer sensory materials at the department of polymer science and engineering, Zhejiang University originates from the research group on functional polymers with optical and electrical properties led by Prof. Mujie Yang. Since 1980s, the group has been working on functional polymers with optical and electrical properties and coodination polymerizations. It has solid foundations in researches on photoelectrical conducting materials based on substituted polyacetylenes, non-linear optics materials based on metal-polyyns, polymer electroluminescent materials, low band-gapr polymer solar cell materials and gel polymer electrolytes for lithium batteries. Since 1990s, the group started the researches on humditiy sensitive materials based on polymer composites. After 2000, the group began working on polymeric gas sensitive materials. Currently, the group includes one associate professor, four Ph.D. student and four postgraduate students, with the research focusing on gas and humidity sensory materials based on polymers and their nanocomposites.
