Graduated from Department of Chemistry, Normal College of Zhejiang (1982); Received Master degree at Department of Chemistry, Hangzhou University (1992), and PhD at Department of Polymer Science & Engineering, Zhejiang University (1996, PhD Dissertation: Polymerization of styrene and polar monomers with rare-earth catalysts). Promoted as an associate professor (1998) and a full professor (2005).  As a visiting scholar, visited Hiroshima University (Japan, 2000.5-7, JSPS) and Korea Institute of Science and Technology (2002.8-2003.8).

Research interests

* New rare-earth catalysts for the polymerization with well controllability

* Optically active polymer-based materials with a chiral recognition function

* Special chemicals for paper-making

Recent main research projects

* Optically active polymers based on N-substituted maleimides and their metal complexes (NSFC)

* New rare-earth catalysts and their application in polymer synthesis (NSFC)

* Special coatings for releasing paper and the production of artificial leather
