Mingsheng Xu joined Zhejiang University in April 2010, as a full professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering and a Senior Researcher in the State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials . He earned his Ph.D. in Department of Electronic Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003. Prior to joining Zhejiang University, he worked as a researcher at The University of Tokyo, a lecturer at Chiba university, and a researcher at National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan. Dr. Xu has published widely in the areas of two-dimensional layered materials, nanotoxicity, π-optoelectronic materials & related devices, scanning probe microscopy, and nanobiotechnology. Prof. Xu has more than 50 refereed publications and 22 China, US, UK and Japan patents. He is distinguished Young Scholar of Zhejiang Province (2011) and Qianjian Talent of Zhejiang Province (2011), China. He is Member of American Nano Society, Materials Research Society, and Japan Society of Applies Physics.
