JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling Scientist
DEPARTMENT: Technology
REPORTS TO: Technology,Group Leader
DATE: September 21, 2009
POSITION SUMMARY:
Participates in research and development activities linked to new product initiatives using
complex multi-physics computer simulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary purpose of the role is the development and implementation of fluid flow models
including turbulent and multiphase flow.
Work directly with Scientists and Engineering Staff to develop new products and processes
Assist all Technology Groups with modeling support to develop new products and processes
Knowledge of H&V processes, products, application and raw materials
Develop expertise in appropriate media technology to assist and support laboratory and
machine based trials
Work in highly energized cross functional project teams on major product developments
Provide technical reports and presentations to internal and external project stakeholders
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
An M.S. or PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) is required.
Strong computational modeling and simulation experience is required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
Experience in modeling, optimization, and validation of process systems is desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
